Carlisle

Carlisle, nestled within the Castle Downs Outline Plan area, sits south of 145th Avenue, north of 137th Avenue, west of 124th Street, and east of 113A Street. Annexed to Edmonton in 1971, its development commenced in the 1970s, extending into the 1980s and even into the 2000s with some ongoing construction. Multi-unit structures line collector roads, while recreational amenities and parkland grace the neighborhood’s core, adjacent to the community league and elementary school. Following the area’s tradition, Carlisle draws its name from the renowned Carlisle Castle, a historic fortification located south of England’s border with Scotland, boasting extensive renovations and revered as one of England’s best-preserved castles.
