Rosslyn

In the early 1900s, the area now known as Rosslyn acquired its name, although the exact origin remains uncertain. Following a pre-World War I land boom, Edmonton annexed a significant parcel of land, including Rosslyn, which remained largely undeveloped for decades. However, after World War II, Edmonton experienced a resurgence in growth, prompting the subdivision of Rosslyn for residential and commercial purposes in the late 1950s. Throughout the 1960s, the majority of the neighborhood took shape, characterized by a mix of single-detached houses, semi-detached units, row houses, and low-rise apartments. Rosslyn boasts several expansive park sites, strategically located near local schools, offering residents ample green space. Additionally, the neighborhood features a thriving commercial scene, with most businesses concentrated along the bustling 97th Street strip and supplemented by neighborhood-level amenities along 134th Avenue, while larger retail and service establishments can be found at nearby Northgate Centre and North Town Malls.
