Ramsay Heights

In Edmonton’s southwest lies Ramsay Heights, a community annexed in 1960 and meticulously planned in phases from 1961 onwards, forming part of the expansive Riverbend-Terwillegar Heights development project. Developed in the early 1970s, Ramsay Heights seamlessly blends single-detached homes with multi-unit structures, offering a diverse housing mix. Its layout revolves around a central educational and recreational hub, with Riverbend Road serving as the spine, connecting residents to the Whitemud Freeway. Curvilinear streets and pathways weave through the neighborhood, fostering pedestrian and bicycle mobility, while an elevated central site provides stunning panoramic views of the city. Named in tribute to Walter Ramsay, an esteemed educator and Edmonton’s pioneering florist, Ramsay Heights remains a testament to thoughtful planning and community legacy.
