Prince Charles

Prince Charles neighborhood, situated to the west of the planned Blatchford development, holds historical significance in north-central Edmonton. Initially owned by N. McCauley and A. Wilson, it was later annexed to Edmonton in 1910 after being subdivided in 1905. Development was catalyzed by the extension of the electric streetcar line in 1913, leading to gradual residential expansion over the years. Characterized by a mix of housing spanning a century, from pre-World War II structures to modern homes, Prince Charles boasts diverse architectural styles. Anchored by Prince Charles Park and Elementary School, the neighborhood embodies a blend of tradition and progress, culminating in its namesake honoring His Royal Highness Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales.
