MacEwan

Nestled in southwest Edmonton, MacEwan stands as a key piece of the Heritage Valley landscape, forming its northern edge. Planned meticulously as part of the Heritage Valley Servicing Concept Design Brief, MacEwan sprang into existence swiftly after City Council’s 2001 approval of its Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan. Bounded by the Anthony Henday ring road to the north and Ellerslie Road to the south, MacEwan’s borders define a vibrant community hub. This diverse neighbourhood seamlessly blends low, medium, and high-density residential options with commercial, institutional, and recreational amenities. Named in honor of the esteemed John Walter Grant MacEwan, whose legacy in local politics and dedication to Alberta’s heritage left an indelible mark, MacEwan encapsulates a vision of community woven with history and possibility.
