Inglewood

Inglewood, with roots tracing back to the late 19th century, thrived along the historic trail connecting St. Albert and Edmonton. Initially acquired by pioneers J. Norris Sr. and R. Logan, it gradually evolved from First Nations campsites to a vibrant community. The advent of electric streetcar service in 1913 catalyzed its development, transforming it into a low-density residential enclave.

As the city expanded, Inglewood embraced change, witnessing a shift towards medium and higher density residential structures by the 2000s. This transformation was propelled by its strategic location near shopping and employment hubs, fostering the rise of apartment complexes and commercial corridors. Notable landmarks like the Bel Air apartment complex stand as testaments to Inglewood’s evolving architectural landscape. Despite these changes, echoes of its rich history endure, shaping the character of this dynamic neighborhood.
