Henderson Estates
Located within the Riverbend Area Structure Plan, Henderson Estates marks the southwestern edge of the Riverbend ASP, bordered by Rabbit Hill Road/Rhatigan Road West, Riverbend Road, and the North Saskatchewan River Valley. Initially cultivated for agriculture, the neighborhood saw its main development surge during the 1980s and 1990s. Predominantly featuring single-detached homes, with some semi-detached and row housing, Henderson Estates boasts Henderson Park at its heart, serving as both a school/park site and a hub for community activities. Named after Thomas Henderson, a pioneering homesteader in the late 19th century, whose legacy of innovation, including introducing Italian honeybees to Edmonton, is honored in the neighborhood’s nomenclature.
