Dunluce

Amidst the 1970s oil-driven economic boom, Edmonton expanded its boundaries to anticipate population growth, annexing the entire Castle Downs and Lake District area in 1971. Dunluce, a neighborhood within the Castle Downs Outline Plan, saw its Neighbourhood Outline Plan approved in 1974, with residential construction mostly completed by the 1980s. Bordered by major roadways like 153rd and 167th Avenues, 127th Street, and Castle Downs Road, Dunluce offers quick access to other parts of the city for its residents. Featuring amenities like the Castle Downs Recreation Centre in the southeast corner and a centrally located community league, Dunluce fosters community engagement. Additionally, a mobile home park sits at the intersection of 153rd Avenue and 127th Street, while a dry pond provides a natural feature between 121 Street and Dunluce Road. Inspired by historical castles, Dunluce takes its name from the renowned Dunluce Castle located on the scenic north coast of Ireland.
