Duggan
Once owned by J.J. Duggan, a prominent figure in Strathcona’s early history, the area now known as Duggan was developed in the 1960s, situated south of Edmonton’s early boundaries. Reflecting design trends of its time, the neighborhood features higher density residential areas along main roads and central amenities like schools and parks. Single-detached houses cluster around the neighborhood center, connected by curving streets, with commercial zones conveniently located nearby. While single-detached homes dominate, there’s also a notable presence of apartments, along with some semi-detached houses and row housing. Development peaked in the 1970s, with continued growth into the 1980s, ensuring residents enjoy easy access to various destinations on Edmonton’s south side via well-connected road networks.
