Crestwood
Crestwood, established in the early 1950s, was initially referred to as the Jasper Place and Capital Hill subdivisions before its residents selected its official name through a community vote. Residents of Crestwood enjoy scenic views of the North Saskatchewan River Valley from various vantage points throughout the neighborhood. Alongside its natural beauty, Crestwood boasts numerous community amenities, including shopping centers, churches, schools, and recreational facilities like parks and a curling club. Isabelle Connelly Park commemorates the contributions of Alberta’s first licensed lady embalmer. With its convenient location along 149th Avenue, Crestwood provides easy access to major roadways like Stony Plain Road and Whitemud Drive. The neighborhood primarily comprises single-detached dwellings built in the 1950s, with some semi-detached homes and low-rise apartment buildings adding to its diverse housing options. Throughout the years, Crestwood has seen a gradual process of infill development, with new homes steadily replacing older ones.
