Canossa

Once farmland, Canossa transitioned into a residential neighborhood in the early 1990s, with most homes built between 2000 and 2006, though pockets of undeveloped land remain, especially north of 175th Avenue. Bounded by Anthony Henday Drive, 121st Street, 167th Avenue, and 112th Street, Canossa features a predominantly single-detached housing layout, designed to promote a safe and serene living environment with loop and cul-de-sac roadways. Originally planned in 1984, the neighborhood’s design evolved to align with modern stormwater management regulations and increased demand for single-detached homes. Embracing the Castle Downs tradition, Canossa draws its name from the historic Canossa Castle in Northern Italy, reflecting a blend of heritage and modern residential charm.
