Bulyea Heights
Nestled southeast along the Whitemud Creek Ravine, Bulyea Heights once stood as farmland before evolving into a residential haven following the creation of the Riverbend Area Structure Plan in 1979. Embracing a vision of low-density living amidst natural beauty, the neighborhood boasts primarily single-detached homes crafted in the 1970s, alongside some medium-density units. With a focus on harmonizing with its surroundings, Bulyea Heights features a hierarchical roadway system that efficiently separates internal residential streets from external traffic. Limited to two access points—one from Terwillegar Drive at 40th Avenue and another from Rabbit Hill Road—the neighborhood embraces a tranquil ambiance while still offering connectivity to adjacent areas. Named in honor of Gorge Hedley Vicars Bulyea, Alberta’s inaugural Lieutenant-Governor, Bulyea Heights carries a legacy of pioneering spirit and community stewardship.
