Belle Rive

Belle Rive, a scenic neighbourhood in Edmonton, was annexed by the city in 1969 as part of the Lakes district. It is neatly bordered by 153rd Avenue to the south, 82nd Street to the east, 167th Avenue to the north, and approximately 91st Street to the west, with a power transmission line right-of-way marking its northern boundary. Notably, an artificial lake enhances the southwestern part of the neighbourhood, adding to its aesthetic appeal. The design of Belle Rive was carefully planned to offer a balanced and cohesive environment, with a road network designed to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize external use. This network includes six entrance points, reinforcing its exclusive and tranquil character. The name “Belle Rive,” meaning “beautiful shore” in French, reflects the neighbourhood’s picturesque setting, aligning with the theme of lake-inspired names throughout the Lake District.
