Alberta Avenue

Nestled in the heart of Edmonton, Alberta Avenue is one of the city’s historic gems, dating back to 1894 when the area was just emerging from dense bush. This neighborhood was initially a part of the “Village of North Edmonton,” outside the town limits, and has evolved since then into a vibrant community. Its streets, lined with large trees, feature a diverse range of homes from quaint bungalows to larger two-stories. Alberta Avenue is well-known for its lively commercial areas along 118th Avenue, Norwood Boulevard, and part of 95th Street, adding a dynamic mix of shops and services. The community, which officially took its name from the old designation for 118th Avenue in 1922, also boasts a strong sense of local pride, stemming from its longstanding Community League. Close to downtown, residents enjoy both the suburban peace and urban convenience.
