Lymburn
Nestled in the western reaches of Edmonton, Lymburn sits snugly just south of the Whitemud Freeway and east of Anthony Henday Drive. Developed over the span of the 1980s and 1990s, Lymburn boasts a varied housing landscape, blending single-detached homes, row housing, and low-rise apartments. The neighborhood’s street layout, typical of its era, features cul-de-sacs and keyhole crescents intertwined with curvilinear collector roads, fostering a cozy community feel. Central to Lymburn’s charm are its two schools, Lymburn Elementary and St. Martha Elementary, anchoring the neighborhood’s educational hub. Meanwhile, a quaint shopping center at 76 Avenue and 178 Street caters to the diverse needs of local residents, adding a touch of convenience to Lymburn’s inviting atmosphere. Named in homage to John F. Lymburn, a prominent lawyer and former Alberta Attorney General, the neighborhood also pays tribute to Monsignor Walter Fitzgerald through its 6.1-hectare park, honoring his significant contributions to parish and diocesan life in Edmonton.
