Hairsine
Hairsine, a fully developed Edmonton neighborhood, sits comfortably bounded by 137th Avenue, 144th Avenue, 36th Street, and Victoria Trail. Its history dates back to 1961 when it was annexed by the city, later becoming part of the Clareview Outline Plan in 1972. Development flourished in the 1970s and 1980s, resulting in a diverse mix of housing types, predominantly row housing and low-rise apartments.
Central to the community is a shared school and park site, fostering a sense of community and providing recreational spaces for residents. Nearby commercial amenities along 137th Avenue and Victoria Trail cater to daily needs, while Clareview Town Centre offers extensive shopping options. Additionally, the convenience of an LRT station in the Clareview Town Centre area enhances accessibility for residents, linking them to broader city amenities and transportation networks.
The neighborhood’s namesake, Albert Hairsine, holds a special place in local history as the first mayor of the Town of Beverly, serving with dedication until 1951.
