Brintnell
Before its transformation into a residential area in the early 2000s, Brintnell was predominantly agricultural, with its development framework established in 1981 through the Pilot Sound Area Structure Plan. Today, it’s nestled amidst neighboring residential communities to the south and west, with Gorman Industrial to the east across Manning Drive. Characterized by single-detached homes predominantly occupied by owners, Brintnell boasts a well-thought-out circulation design, featuring arterial roads along its perimeter and interior loops and cul-de-sacs. A green corridor and pedestrian pathway, courtesy of a powerline right-of-way, enhance the neighborhood’s allure, while convenient access to Manning Drive via 160th Avenue simplifies commuting for residents. Named after aviation pioneer Wilfred Leigh Brintnell, renowned for his groundbreaking flights and significant contributions to Edmonton’s aviation history, Brintnell continues to evolve, with its northern areas witnessing ongoing development, echoing the pioneering spirit of its namesake.
