McQueen

Nestled in west-central Edmonton, McQueen is framed by 111th Avenue to the north, 142nd Street to the east, 107th Avenue to the south, and 149th Street to the west. With convenient connections to major arterial roads, residents enjoy easy access to various city services, amenities, and employment opportunities. Surrounded by residential neighborhoods on three sides and an industrial area to the north, McQueen boasts a street network reminiscent of the modified grid pattern typical of its era. The neighborhood’s charming streets are lined with single-detached homes from the 1950s, encircling a spacious central site featuring recreational facilities and four schools. Along McQueen Road, low-rise apartments and multi-family complexes offer serene views of the central school/park area, while commercial hubs at major intersections cater to residents’ needs. Named after Rev. G. D. McQueen, a respected Presbyterian minister and early Edmontonian, this neighborhood’s history reflects its transformation from the erstwhile Huff Estate and West Glenora.
