Argyll

Argyll, a cozy neighborhood in Edmonton, has a history that traces back to the early surveys of the Edmonton Settlement, originally part of land owned by the Eamer family who subdivided it in 1912. Officially annexed to Edmonton in 1913, the area saw its major development occur in the 1950s, nestled comfortably between two branches of the Mill Creek Ravine. Predominantly featuring single-family homes, most of Argyll’s development took place post-WWII, from 1946 to 1960. The neighborhood was initially known as Edmonton City Heights but was later renamed Argyll in honor of Sir Douglas Sutherland Campbell, the ninth Duke of Argyll. This renaming reflects the area’s rich heritage and community spirit, making Argyll a charming place to call home.
